Choosing a Business Coach or Business Mentor for your business – where do you start to find the right coach.

Don't let the different labels – mentor and coach – confuse you. A Business Coach and a Business Mentor usually do the same job.

  • Look on the Web, read the background on each Coach
  • Pick out one who says the sort of things you relate to. (No point in having a Coach who talks a different language to you).
  • If they use business buzzwords and you don't understand what they mean, that Coach is not right for you.
  • Sometimes talking on the phone, to the Coach will help you decide.
  • You may prefer to meet with them in person, to see how you get on in the initial interview.
  • If this feels too committed, make the phone call first and see how it goes.
  • Have a list of questions you wish to ask, this stimulates discussion. If still unsure, ask them if you can meet just for a coffee first.
  • You may know someone in your area, who already receives Coaching.
  • Speak to the local Business Association, they may know of someone who has received Coaching, so they can refer a Coach to you.
  • Look up in the Yellow Pages to see who is in your area. Jacky Stevens Business Coach & Mentor travels from Whangarei to Kaitaia.
